Hearing

Hearing is a pretty crazy sense, did you know that you actually never stop hearing?  In your sleep you still hear sounds, your brain just blocks them out!  You can also hear things when there isn't anything to hear!  Maybe go to a psych ward?  Nope!  That's Musical Ear syndrome and it can typically be pretty normal... potentially.  You hear your own voice through your head and through your ears, warping your voice to sound differently to you (but not to other people!).  Craziest of all, you hear with hair!  The hair cells in your ears help you hear, and.. as you lose the cells, you lose your hearing.  Not only that though, but while you hear through your hair, newts and snakes hear through their jaws, and a Gardiner's frog hears through it's mouth cavity???  Hearing is just bonkers!  I mean, hearing through a mouth cavity??  How interesting, am I right!? https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/2016/08/05/6-weird-wacky-facts-a...

My Alert-Conscience

My birthday is July 14, so my part is the amygdala and my chemical is Norepinephrine. My Alert-Conscience- Alert-Conscience (AC) grew up in a very hard household.  His father was always working, and when he wasn't working, he was reprimanding AC for any wrong move.  His mother was concerned over AC's siblings and always pressuring AC- as he was the oldest- to help out with his siblings.  This rough environment lead to multiple fight or flight situations in dealing with either an argument with his dad, or the consequence of the shenanigans of his siblings being dealt on him.  Only to make things worse, his teachers were definitely out for him in school and the bullies didn't make things better either.  AC had to learn to be alert and on all the time in order to not get struck in the blind by the life he was given.  His diary became his only place of comfort, writing down the best ways to get out of certain circumstances and how to maneuver through certain si...

My Life???

Image
WOAH my life story!  I could just totally make something up completely and no one would ever know the difference 👀...  But of course I'm not gonna do that!  Sooo it all started when I was born (with a twin brother nonetheless)!   Not entirely sure what our first words were but I do know that we started a swim class at 18 weeks old!  We started kindergarten at 5 years old and I was doing ballet, when I decided I wanted to play the violin after watching a 5th grader play one in a talent show so I got a violin for Christmas and started playing the violin in 1st grade!   A little bit after that, I decided I wanted to cheer in upwards at my church so I did cheer and my brother did basketball.   After doing upward I decided I definitely wanted to be a cheerleader when I got older and joined my first tumbling classes in 5th grade.  In 7th grade I joined honors orchestra and the cheer team at Dulles middle school and continued on....

what am I proud of?      This is leadership group that I was a part of at my church's summer camp.  As I thought through my activities I kept coming back to how proud I am to be on my church leadership team over the physical  achievements.  This group that I was a part of, went up to summer camp early and got to learn more about God, how to spread His word and how to be leaders in out church.  We spent time getting closer by going to watch sunrises, going to the pool, and braiding string into our hair.  I learned so much through being in this group and having this opportunity, and getting to serve God through my church is easily the thing I'm most proud of. four truths and a lie: I'm a twin I love coffee my favorite color is green I have 2 dogs I play the ukulele
